About The Workshops:
A workshop which uses our relationship with the natural world as a starting-point to write creatively in whatever form is preferred ( poetry, prose or script ) “Art takes Nature as its model”, so Aristotle said, and that’s what we’ll be exploring in this Dayschool. Led by local writer Sue Wilsea, participants will be encouraged and supported in a friendly and informal atmosphere. The day is suitable for absolute beginners or those with some writing experience.
Sue’s work is with words, whether that’s writing, performing or teaching. Her fiction and poetry has been widely published and broadcast with her first collection of short stories, Staying Afloat, being published by Valley Press in 2012 and her second Raw Material in November 2016. In 2014 she gained an MA in Creative Writing (Distinction ) from Newcastle University. As a freelance Arts practitioner Sue currently delivers Creative Writing classes and undertakes a wide range of writing / literature based projects. She has four grown-up children, lives with her husband in North Lincolnshire and buys too many books and earrings.

‘Raw Material’, her recently published short fiction collection, is currently long listed for the Edge Hill prize.
