Pastel workshop summer scene workshop

Level: Beginners.

Tutor: Peter Wood

Workshop Date and Time:

Wednesday 15 March 10am – 3pm

Cost: £36 or £30 per session if all 4 parts booked. Includes materials + light refreshments

About the Workshop:

A foundation and introduction to four completely different approaches to using soft pastels. Ideal for students of any ability to, either, gain a good foundation or expand their knowledge and skills.

Designed to help you gain confidence and enjoy this medium by approaching it in both the traditional and more unusual ways. We will also be painting three completely different scenes as part of this workshop series (see below).

You will create a traditional English style “block and blend” summer woodland scene, with trout stream. Ingres pastel paper.

Paper, pastels, brushes, inks, sticks and some watercolours will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own. Please bring a half imperial drawing board if you have one.

The day will either take the form of a two hour demonstration, plus looking at some examples of work by the tutor, then a lunch break, and the remainder painting or you may follow the demonstration, from the start, as a step by step.
