The Workshop Details:
Join artist Linda Ingham for a journey through portraiture each second Monday of the month. Using inspirational imagery to inspire each session, Linda will take participants through the fundamental elements of portraiture and observational drawing and painting as well as a range of techniques including mark-making, using colour and modelling tone. Workshops are suitable for those who have an interest in portraiture and life drawing; beginners are welcome.
February – Frida Kahlo, composition and design in place. Monday 11 February 2019 12 noon – 4pm
March – Lucian Freud – Using paint and manipulating surface. Monday 11 March 2019 12 noon – 4pm
April – Alison Lambert – Modelling Tone and the living surface. Monday 8 April 2019 12 noon – 4pm
May – Paula Rego – Posing the full figure and body language. Monday 13 May 2019 12 noon – 4pm
June – Giacommetti – Exploring form through Line. Monday 10 June 2019 12 noon – 4pm
Each session will begin with a brief presentation of visual resources and techniques before going on to work from the model.
Linda Ingham lives and works from her coastal studio in Lincolnshire, and has been teaching life drawing and portraiture for more than 20 years. She exhibits internationally and has work in several public and private collections including the East Contemporary Artists collections at UCS, Swindon Art Gallery & Museum, Rugby Museum & Art Gallery, and University of Arizona Museum of Art, USA, Madison Museum and Gallery, Ohio; Komechak Museum, Chicago USA and is one of the 56 artists represented on the curated Contemporary British Painting website. Her work has toured China as part of the Contemporary Masters of Britain exhibition, 2017 – 2018.

Payment is non refundable unless we are able to fill your space. In the event of a cancellation no less than 14 days prior to the workshop date, the credit may be transferred to another workshop. If The Steel Rooms cancels a workshop you will be entitled to a full refund or to transfer payment to another workshop.
