Make a Clay Monster (Ages 3+)

Level: Ages 3 and upwards. Children / a group of children must be accompanied by an adult.

Wednesday 25 July, 10:30am – 12:00pm

Cost: £12 per child including all materials

Workshop Details:
A great workshop for imagination. The children will work with grey stoneware clay to form a thumb pot ball. Using some clay tools and other things they will texture the surface of the monster before adding the face and arms, legs, horn etc. a mouth will be cut out before adding tongues or fangs and white clay will be used for the eyes and horns.
The monsters will then be taken away to be dried and fired in a kiln and glaze finished, returning shiny and colourful.
Each piece of work is unique and evolves its own personality during the making process.

About Karen:
Karen is an experienced potter who enjoys leading workshops and giving others a chance to be creative with clay. The workshops cover a wide range of subject matter and can accommodate all ages and abilities. The sessions are designed to give an opportunity to learn basic techniques whilst enjoying the creation of unique objects to keep. You can read more about Karen and her pottery here http://

Payment is non refundable unless we are able to fill your space. In the event of cancellation no less than 14 days prior to the workshop date the credit may be transferred. If The Steel Rooms cancels a workshop you will be entitled to a full refund or to transfer payment to another workshop. If a session which has been prepaid at the discounted rate is cancelled, the discounted rate will carry over to the next workshop.
