Clare Bryan is one of our new tutors to our programme this year; a successful textile artist specialising in figurative embroidery who has enjoyed a career setting up exhibitions and workshops and more recently, play based activities within local communities. Clare is leading our journaling workshops.

With the concept of ‘mindfulness’ and the idea of ‘living in the moment’ becoming more popular, Clare’s workshops are a great way to focus the mind and take time out of your schedule to appreciate the little things in life. Working with a range of materials including inks, pens and crayons, Clare provides the opportunity for mindful reflection whilst also helping you become more creative no matter your artistic ability. This is one of the best things about these workshops – you absolutely do not have to have any drawing ability to enjoy this course. All that is required is an open mind to join in and share.

Whatever your reason to start journaling – maybe you want to develop a daily creative habit, experiment with new materials or create a more unique journal based on milestones and important events in your personal life – Clare provides support and ideas and will also share some of her own journals to inspire you. What’s more, the simple act of focussing the mind on the present moment reminds us to treasure the little things in life  – no matter how small – and has been proven to have significant benefits for health and wellbeing.
