‘I Exist in Two Places, Here and Where You Are’

Join us for an exhibition from Nolitex discovering and looking into the communications and connections in our modern world

This exhibition will run from Saturday 22 July – Saturday 2 Sept 2017

NOLITEX are an exhibiting group of 11 artists who are based in Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. Printing, painting, dyeing, metal, wood, handmade felts and papers, feature in members’ work, as well as traditional techniques such as hand and machine embroidery. Working to a theme or title, the group presents an exhibition of new work every two years. ‘I Exist In Two Places, Here And Where You Are’ is an exploration of communication and connections in our modern world. The title is taken from a poem by Margaret Atwood.

The group will also be holding demonstrations and workshops throughout July and August, giving everyone further insight into their exhibition and varying crafts. These will include:

Needle felting demonstration in the gallery Tuesday 25th July 11.00 a.m. – 2.00 p.m. (Sally Malloy)

Meet the Artist in the gallery Saturday 29th July 12.00 – 3.00 p.m. (whole group)

Free machine embroidery demonstration in the gallery Wednesday 30th August 11.00 a.m. – 2.00 p.m. (Mary Whittaker)

Walk and talk through the exhibition in the gallery, date to be confirmed (Joan Richardson).
