Mother’s Day will shortly be upon us, and what a lovely opportunity to spoil your Mum and spend some quality time with her!
For this special day, we will be offering traditional afternoon tea in the cafe. Just imagine, Debi’s cakes on the same tea stand as Evie’s food. Does it get any better than that?! There’s no need to book, just grab your Mum, bring her to Byrom & Steel and treat her to some fabulous food!
It can often become difficult to find new ways in which to show our Mums how much they are appreciated and how grateful we are to them, so with this in mind, Byrom & Steel will also be creating a space in the gift shop where you can come along and leave your Mum a little message! Note cards will be made available to all our customers and your messages will be pinned together to create a beautiful Mother’s Day collage in honour of how wonderful they are! When completed, the messages will be photographed and will appear on our blog and social media pages for your Mums to see! This will be open from 10am on Sunday 10th March until 4pm and the messages will be posted in the evening on Mother’s Day. Feel free to bring along your photographs and any other mementos you would like to pin to the board with your message too!
We can also help you with some lovely gift ideas! In addition to our beautiful cards and gifts in the shop, we’re holding a Knitting for Beginners workshop from 1:30-3:30pm on Mother’s Day! This is a great opportunity to spend some time with your Mum whilst learning something new together!
Alison Casserly will be joining us for the afternoon as your tutor for this workshop. Alison has many years knitting experience, has worked with knitwear designers and even produces her own British yarns which you will use in the workshop! Alison’s yarns are 100% British wool (no acrylics). During the workshop you will learn how to cast on and knit garter stitch (standard knitting) fingerless gloves. Materials will be included and you will receive a pattern to take away with you.
Many knitters have reported that working with soft textures has a more calming effect than using coarser wool, so with Alison’s beautifully soft yarns you will have no problem kicking back and relaxing to the soothing sounds of knitting needles clicking together.
